The fall of a Nation!

Ask the typical man or women on the street about how they feel about our Representatives and Senators and you’ll likely get a mixed bag of responses; generally all bad. National polls have made it clear that only car salesmen rank lower when it comes to trust; a situation not likely to improve soon if one were to take into account the activities going on concerning the fiscal budget. The use of smoke and mirrors has gotten so bad the many are now suggesting that Congress could qualify as a Fun House.( However, all is not all fun and games as the latest stellar meltdown on Capitol Hill will directly impact the wallets of most every American citizen in 2013. And, perhaps surprisingly, that will be the case whether they reach an agreement or not).

No matter what this group of educated loons does, no matter what last minute agreements they hammer out, this August Body has shown itself to be completely out of control, time and again. Interestingly, even if we were to tax everyone in the country at a rate of 50%, it would still not be enough to put much of a dent in even the payment on interest that has to be made monthly! Even if the government, which owns 30% of the land in America, begins to sell off vast tracks to China (this I hear is in the works), our problem of over-spending will quickly render all such efforts useless.

The truth be told, America is now in full decline and the average citizen is being kept in the dark by a corrupt, jaded and frankly sick group of legislators whose sole purpose it is to keep the 'party' going for as long as is possible. Their slogan could be, 'Let the party on Capitol Hill continue and who really cares about the poor sots that will be left behind the pick up the tab'. That’s the truth, as I see it, and everyone please know that it hurts me to have to say it. I love my country deeply and it hurts to watch it fall.

Think I'm mistaken? Let any knowledgeable person look me in the eye and tell me that we/re not broke beyond belief. Let that same person tell me that ‘things are going to improve’, that ‘I’ll be taken care of in my old age’, that there is ‘hope for our children’ and brother I’ll know then that there are pigs are flying right over my head!

My thoughts: By now, this should be a no brainer for most everyone. The Democrats totally believe in the concept that no crisis should go to waste. They have taken the tragedy that occurred in Newtown and are trying to use it to forward their anti-gun views even in the face of recent rulings by the Supreme Court..

Taking apart a reeking pile of Washington doo-doo!

As I didn't want to offend my more sensitive readers, I tried to use a word here that would sound more civilized…Doo-doo! (That word other ‘crap’ is so obtuse! Don’t you think)?

At any rate, what's going on in Washington these days could be certainly termed a crime! Watching a group of four hundred, or so, of our legislators trying to come to consensus over the fiscal policies of the nation has been nothing short of nauseating. That sad truth is that most of the viewers (common citizens like me and you), can’t tell where the theatrics stop short of reality. Just by watching the action, it’s hard to tell whose winning. Hell, it’s even harder to tell what the winning side is really…winning! That’s pretty sad too, because it’s our wallets are on the line!

Now, I’m absolutely positive that this mess will all get worked out at some point. True, it may be in the weeks after we go over a cliff, but yes, these elected officials will either hammer something out or they will just kick the whole pile of shit down the street. (They’ve gotten oh so good at doing that, haven’t they)? But, what about the damage that’s been done to the nation’s collective psyche as a result?

The truth is that now people I know on the street are becoming more and more polarized along ideological lines that are diametrically opposite. On one hand, you have those (the so-called 47%’ers) who feel they are ‘entitled by birth’ to more and more free stuff without end. At the other end of the spectrum, you have those (owners of businesses) who are trying to hold on to what they’ve worked hard all their lives to make. And then, caught somewhere in the middle are millions of citizens who worked hard all their lives thinking that the government would shelter and protect them vis-à-vis Social Security and Medicare during their Golden years. (Good luck with that)! Finally, interspersed throughout the doggie pile are tens of thousands of individuals who are happily ‘gaming the system’ through fraudulent medial claims, food stamp programs and other government handouts. I’m thinking this will not end well…

Now it’s come to pass that our legislators have their collective backs against a fiscal wall and what are they doing? All I’m seeing are cheap theatrics, pointless speech-making and narcissistic back patting. Adding to the chaos, is a President that does a much better job of dividing than he does of bringing together conflicting sides. As I said earlier, a real pile of doggie doo-doo.

And, I suppose it's also too bad that by the time all the dust settles, there will still be millions and millions of us trusting Americans standing around with our collective pants on the floor. And, unlike the wise man who watches things happen or a rich man who makes things happen, we’ll all be standing around asking, ‘What happened.’

Boehner please don't cave!

My Thoughts: While I still think these weasels in Congress will come up with a last minute deal, this type of conduct (on both sides of the isle) is exactly why they must all be shown the door come next election! If you think this eleventh hour ‘deal’ will be the last of it, you’re sadly mistaken. These crisis times will begin, now, to come ever more frequently until, you guessed it, we look so much like Greece it will be scary! America – half of you voted this idiot into office and now you vill pay!

Nullification now!

At some point in time, America and those of us who dwell therein, will have to make a choice. Are we to continue on this path of fiscal and political insanity or do we choose to refresh and renew our Republic?

Do ‘we the people’ stay small, timid and in the background...cowering like children, or DO WE THE PEOPLE stand up and be heard? A united voice whose one desire is to move our country back towards Freedom from the tyranny of an over-powered, restrictive and abusive government?

The time is growing short my friends. The cancer that has become our government is real and it gets larger by the day...

Make 2013 the year that each an every American takes control and strives to be heard! Otherwise, the forces of darkness, ignorance and greed may consume the day.

The insanity of the sane approach to the Newtown tragedy!

After all that has been said and done by both sides including an impassioned plea by the CEO of the National Rifle Association to protect our nation’s school children (just watch the media go berserk over this), it will be business as usual as the lawmakers will soon go after guns (again) as the root of all evil.

There will be no enlightened approach to helping correct the problems of mental illness mainly because it’s not the neat thing to do. No armed guards in schools (deemed too expensive even though out nation spends billions to protect the citizens of other countries). No renewed effort to try and mend the wrecked system that is our mental healthcare facilities. And no serious attempt to curb the wholesale violence that comes from both Hollywood and the video game industry.

Instead our great ‘leaders’ in Washington will be forming a special committee to oversee the creation of massive new regulations to add to the twenty thousand odd laws that relate to guns already on the books. Maybe, they reason, if they do enact more restrictive laws on gun ownership then this whole problem of unstable people will go away. And, while they're at it, perhaps they can create yet another Federal bureaucracy to implement and oversee all those new regulations, (like we’re all too stupid not to know how that will turn out).

As the collective head of our government, these clueless wonders will continue with the ‘sane’ approach of supplying armed guards to protect our President and the money in our banks, while at the same time, they will ignore defenseless children and adults who huddle together in open spaces. But hey! That's the 'sane approach' from a group of individuals that can't even balance a budget...

Drink and make merry America, for come January...

Not unlike two lovers who find themselves in a death spiral, Democrats and Republicans cannot seem to find a way to work together and the Great Divider Obama is not helping matters.

Let's face some facts. One, we will be going over the cliff come January 1 and not even a last minute coming together by both sides will stop it. Why? Because as they come closer to the edge, one side is depending on the other to cave. A situation that's not helped along much with the President's my way or the highway approach. Truth be told, it's very much in the President's political interest to see America suffer. In his jaded view this disaster that will befall the middle class is a win win situation as he strives to fracture further an already messed up Republican Party. And yes, our boy in the White House apparently could care less as to the fate of millions of his constituents. As the Pharaoh of Egypt once remarked, 'let them make bricks without straw.' For be it told, this President ain't letting his people go no way no how.

So, if this cliff thing is going to happen, what's the best way for the average family to survive? Here's an easy answer and a way out. Everybody, just quit your jobs and go on the Federal dole. Yeah baby, get out there and suck up to every freebie you can find (cause there's a lot to go around). Also, as member of the nouveau pauvre, you can pretty much live the lifestyle you've been used to with the only difference being that the Nanny State will be supporting you up from now on.

Picture now, an overnight change in our society into just two classes – the Makers and the Takers of which you will be a Taker. Then, over a period of months, we can all watch our government suck the life out of those bad old Corporations until nothing but dry husks are left. After that happens, the real magic will come into play as our President produces money right out of thin air. How you might ask with wondering eyes? Why he has a secret buddy name Ben Bernanke who can print money like there was no tomorrow (you know, sorta like he's doing now). As a matter of fact, we all will be swimming in money. A situation not unlike what happened to the Weimar Republic! And while the breadwinner of the family is carting over a wheel barrel full of currency to the local store to buy some bread with, our government will be effectively nullifying our international debt by making the dollar completely worthless. Wow! What a plan! Now can you guess where we'd be headed next? Hint: read up in the Weimar Republic.

Hillary falls and can't get up!

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will not be able to testify before House and Senate committees next week on the Benghazi issue due to a concussion, the State Department said Saturday.

Clinton was a scheduled to testify Thursday on the Sept. 11 terror attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, in which U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stephens and three other Americans were killed.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Philippe Reines said Saturday that Clinton is suffering from a stomach virus, fainted and hit her head, which caused the concussion.

A secular group tore into Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback over the weekend for promoting a national faith rally, saying the Republican governor needs to "repent" for allegedly violating the separation of church and state.

Whether any constitutional boundaries were actually breached is unclear, but Americans United for Separation of Church and State was unsparing in its criticism of the governor.

"The people of Kansas do not need politicians telling us when, how or whether to pray," Vickie Sandell Stangl, president of the Great Plains Chapter of Americans United, said in a statement.
