It is my hope that the coming year will see a resurgence of belief in God and in his Son who died on the cross for our sins. May 2012 also be a year where the people of this great nation come together and work for the betterment of all. Amen!

So ya wanna be President!

I figure it must take a special combination of wealth, power and maybe a dash of plain ignorance in a person to want to aspire to be the President of the United States these days. (Actually a better term might be President of the United Debt)! What is it now..15..16 trillion? Whatever the amount, the next man or women who is placed in office will have to figure a way to get America out of the mess it currently finds itself in. Up to this point, the leadership on Capitol Hill has employed parlor tricks and razzle dazzle to keep the whole shebang going, but that may not work for much longer.  Even the last ditch trick fix of just printing more money ain’t gonna get er done Bamer baby.

Also, I’ll venture a guess that the next President is not going to very popular among the voting public. He’s not going to be very popular with Congress either, especially when they are told that the party is finally and absolutely over! 'Time to sit down and actually get some meaningful work done boys and girls'.

This scenario, by the by, will happen just as the newly Anointed (or re-Anointed) One is sworn in on January of 2013. At that point, the United States will more than likely be hanging on by a thread. The path back to solvency for our Leader and the 300 million in his flock will be a daunting one. The amounts to be paid back are so incredibly huge as to boggle the mind and no matter what transpires, I can pretty much guarantee that general healthcare, Medicare, and Social Security are going to suffer greatly, if they survive at all! Yes, January 2013 may just about feel like it’s the end of the world for many Americans.

Level the tax playing field now!

As the Super Committee prepares to pack up and go home, having failed miserably in their ‘must do’ mission of deficit relief, a new reality will begin to settle in not only on Americans but on other countries all over the world. It will come to them in the form of a message – ‘America cannot solve its debt problem’. A not so subtle message and a warning as well, that the health of the world’s backup currency will continue to worsen. A problem that is sure to cause increasing instability in world financial markets for the foreseeable future. A situation that cannot long endure before some enterprising country, or collection thereof, moves to change it. This happened in 1974 to the British Sterling and it’s about to happen again.

As I understand it, one of the key sticking points centers around tax hikes or tax breaks. One side wants more taxes while the other side does not. Here is the solution. Remove the problem. Pass a flat tax bill with all due haste to ensure that the income playing field is level and then, tackle the problems associated with over-spending. Folks, this is not rocket science and it doesn’t require thousand of hours of oratory. It’s too bad that decent IQ’s seem to be lacking where they are needed the most!

Now here's the bottom line. We are like Rome nears its end. Being fed 'cake and bread' as nothing gets done. I feel that this festering bolus of individuals in Congress are now so tied up scratching and sniffing each others rear ends and in keeping personal political scores that that they have completely lost sight of the needs of this Republic. A situation that I fear will continue to a logical end. America will fall to revolution, disorder and possible anarchy. When? I don't know. But soon. I pray that will not happen, but time now is of the extreme essence. Can you feel it? Vast forces even now are aligning themselves against us and will be ever so happy to see the fall of a great and noble Republic.

The rubble pile that has become our government!

I was going to use the word rubbish instead of rubble for the title. Take your pick. Either term would work to describe the mess my/our country now finds itself in. Please take a moment and take a hard look at the graph above. Do you see anything unusual? With only a few more days for the so-called ‘Super Committee’ to come up with some draconian cuts, all the world financial institutions are holding their collective breath. Supposedly, if this bipartisan panel cannot come up with 1.2 trillion in cuts over the next ten years, a series of automatic cuts will kick in. This process, known as sequesterization (sp?), was agreed upon by both sides and is considered to be lawful. No one, however, knows what the consequences of such an action would be.

But, wait a minute! Already members of congress are discussing ways to get around any cuts to the budget. A course that will absolutely spell disaster for America and the reserved status of the dollar. It’s almost as if this august body of men and women have become mentally ill. Any course taken at this time by Washington that does not result in severe cuts to the budget will result in a crash of this country’s monetary system. This is not a guess, it's a fact. Even the GAO will admit as much. The end result could easily spell hyperinflation and a sudden end to life as we American’s have known it.

Is this what’s the leaders of this country want? Is this what you want, Mr. And Mrs. America?

Why me and Halloween don’t mix!

God commands His people to "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Ephesians 5:11

I understand that for many millions of Americans, All Hallows Eve or Halloween, is a time of parties, candy and dressing up in costumes. And were that all it was, I would never utter a single complaint.

Oh wait one moment! Yes, I do have a complaint! I’ve long suspected that the whole deal has been pushed along by the mega corporations that make candy! They get rich off of the millions of bags of assorted Sweet Tarts and Snickers sold every year and have a vested interest in seeing the tradition maintained. Then too, the dentists are kept very busy by the aftermath of all those sweets on kid's enamel.

But that’s not what I’m really complaining about. What I’m concerned about is a condition that is becoming one of the fasting growing killers in our history; Diabetes. A disease that is becoming all too common and which even now may be helping to collapse our health care system here in America. As a nation, we are already in bed with sugar. Do we need to something like Halloween to give it an exclamation point!

Seriously, as parents, if you are going to launch your children on this horrific path by allowing them to gorge themselves on sweets, at least let them know what may be in store for them later on in life. (And, if you are really serious about a healthy lifestyle, why not keep your kids home and pass out apples or oranges instead? That is assuming you can afford them).

My other gripe about Halloween is the manner in which it has changed in meaning over the years, especially in recent decades where costumes have taken on increasingly darker meanings. I’m referring, of course, to the large upswing in the worship of witchcraft and all things vampire. While I’m sure that the vast majority of kids understand that this stuff is fake, there are some who end up embracing some of its darker and more sinister aspects. Also, there are the costumes coming out these days that are rather too racist for my tastes, thank you very much.

The bottom line, I feel, is that we are entering a time where religion is coming under attack from many sources. In a recent poll, 64% of Americans felt this statement to be true. Do we need then, to continue a practice that in any way exonerates the devil, while at the same time helping to rot our kids teeth? I don’t know. You parents out there will have to make that call.

The time for real change is now!

Every day, it’s the same old, same old. My country now thoroughly out of money. My brave soldiers fighting in countries I cannot even pronounce. And my quality of life? It's been in the dumpster since '08! Something, my fellow Americans, has got to give!

Coming in the fall of 2012, we all have a tough decision to make. A decision that will quite possibly determine the fate of a Republic and a way of life that has been a beacon of hope for the world!

I now call on all citizens to forget about party alliances for this one moment in time and to vote with both their hearts and their minds. We desperately need a candidate that can stand true to the ideals that made America strong and who will help us find our way back to our sovereign roots. We need to be reborn again as...

'A collection of energetic and free states, unencumbered by stringent government regulations and who are fully empowered to achieve their own unique destinies while working together to insure domestic tranquility and a safe haven for all!'

I ask you all to please consider patriotic efforts like nullification and that you take an active and nonviolent role in the political service and future of this great country!

I'll go ahead and say what others will not on Global Warming!

"The bad news just got worse: A new study finds that reining in greenhouse gas emissions in time to avert serious changes to Earth's climate will be at best extremely difficult. Current goals for reducing emissions fall far short of what would be needed to keep warming below dangerous levels, the study suggests. To succeed, we would most likely have to reverse the rise in emissions immediately and follow through with steep reductions through the century. Starting later would be far more expensive and require unproven technology." [more on this at Science Now]

The problem is people, pure and simple. Way, way too many to be precise!  In October 2011,mankind has hit the seven billion mark and shows no sign of slowing. If you really want to save the planet, we need to see very large numbers of men, women and children to perish! That would bring about the fastest and surest correction to what ails this world. As a better alternative, we need to work furiously together as a world to; reign in population growth, learn to get along together and get really, really frugal for about one or two centuries.... Pick one and good luck! In the end, Mother Nature will make a correction of her own, perhaps after most of the species of this planet are long gone. Not a book I would want to read to the end! Just a thought....

Jerry Brown and his 'feel good ban on open carry'!

This week Gov Jerry Brown signed a law that makes it a criminal offense to carry a gun that is in open view in public places in the state of California. The carrying of a gun whether concealed or open, according to LA County Sheriff Lee Baca , “could appear as a threat to their well-being and is regarded as a public safety threat.” This statement from a man in charge of a county bearing some of the most restrictive guns laws in the nation and which, at the same time, boosts one of the highest rates of armed violence.

My question is to ask, 'Is this just another feel good law'? Is it a law designed to imply a safer private sector, when in fact, it may work in the opposite direction.

Consider who is actually impacted by this new law. That would be Mr. and Mrs. Average American, the vast majority of which wouldn't think of carrying a gun in the first place. Fact: Only about 1% of the people in states that allow concealed carry even bother to get a permit. Fact 2: If you happen to live in a 'open carry friendly state', how often do you see someone carrying a gun? I've seen one in the past five years and he turned out to have mental problems. But for the sake of argument, let's say that 5% of the general population decided to carry a gun on their hips. If you went to a crowded store that percentage would imply about five out of every hundred shoppers would be openly armed walking around with their wives and kids buying milk and other sundries. Now, would the sight of those people make me 'tense' or afraid violence was about to break out at any moment. Probably not. However, if I were a crook would the sight of armed citizens make me think twice about robbing the place. You betcha it would.

Speaking of which; of the 5% of the population suffering from some form of mental illness, how many do you think will abide by Jerry's new law? Zero – after all, they're crazy. Duh! And what about the habitual criminal the man who takes from others at the point of a gun? Again, the answer is zero. They consider themselves above the law which they are until caught and prosecuted. That's a double duh!

This brings me back to my opening question that this legislation may be 'feel good' law. It attempts to regulate, when in fact, it changes nothing. It fails to address the root causes of problems in this society; crooks and nut jobs running around on the loose. Neither group of which is allowed to carry a gun in the first place under Federal law!

Governor Brown, please enforce the laws already on the books and stop trying to appear like your smart, cause mister, you ain't!

Bloomberg and his smelly, groping camaraderie!

'Man, like when I get a razor in my hand, it wants to cut something!'

After two weeks of hosting the Wall Street Occupiers, Mayor Bloomberg has been forced to call in the city Sanitation Department to come in an clean out the 'animals' who have been living in Zucotti Park in lower Manhattan for over two weeks now. Brookfield Properties, the owners of the park, have indicated that conditions there are 'disgusting' with them receiving “hundreds of phone calls and emails” from locals complaining about "lewdness, groping, drinking and drug use, the lack of safe access to and usage of their park, ongoing noise at all hours, unsanitary conditions and offensive odors.”

The WSO are portraying themselves as an alternative to the greedy, overly clean men and women of
Wall Street. 'Like man, like we're the Future of America', one Occupier was heard yelling as he ran around the park in a  thong and tennis shoes.

There’s a storm coming! Can you feel it?

Almost everyone I ask tells me they can feel trouble coming. Like in the fall when many of us can sense the days are getting darker and shorter, so too is there a sense for troubled times just ahead. But, as they say, to be forewarned is to be forearmed. Now would be a good time to check your plans for disaster preparedness; food stocks, ammunition, water and seed. I’m not sure if the dark times will start in a year or even next month, but by getting ready right now, you will make your chances of survival that much better.

California: A state that's out of its mind!!

When thinking about the state of California, I’d like you to browse and pick from the following list of phrases to see if anything sticks:

Looney Tunes Capitol of the World.
Haven for illegal’s and other misfits.
The pot Mecca of the West.
A state in revolt against the Feds.
A state that’s just plain revolting…
Loosey goosey with Federal law.
Morally bankrupt and proud of it.
Fiscally bankrupt, but great at pan-handling other states.

Did you find one or two? I thought you might. And while California is technically a state of the Union, it acts more like another country. Consider the following recent laws:

  • You can grow, buy and consume pot anywhere in the state, in spite of Federal laws to the contrary!
  • The state is progressively taking over the job of parenting.
  • Open carry of a gun is now illegal.
  • Girls as young as 12 can receive medical injections without parent approval.
  • Illegal aliens are now encouraged to enter the state for financial rewards.
  • And the list keeps on growing….
What has the government of the United States done about any of this? Zippo and Nada come to my mind. What are they going to do about it in the future? See the aforementioned for an answer.  One other thing of note is that in spite of the enormous influx of Latino’s into the state; as a whole it has lost population for four years running now! That might be partly because business concerns are leaving as fast as they can pack up and go. What is left is a large population that constantly has their hands out, hoping for more and more entitlement programs while working less and less. Not exactly a recipe for a bright future.

I would say that we could just give the state to Mexico, but I fear that wouldn’t work out well. We’d just have to build a longer fence. We could also consider selling the state to the Chinese to settle our National Debt, but I don’t think they would fall for it either.

It's always been a matter of trust Mr. President!

I've lived long enough to have learned
The closer you get to the fire the more you get burned
But that won't happen to us
'Cause it's always been a matter of trust.
Billy Joel

The Latin root of “credit,” credere, means, among other things, to trust, while the German Gläubiger is literally one who trusts. On every piece of our American currency, there is an inscription that reads, “In God We Trust”. That word, trust, is imbedded deeply into the fabric of what it is to be an American.

For most everyone in the business world, trust is a concept that works. Countless times, every day, someone makes a verbal promise to do something and usually they do it. Over time, a person becomes known by how reliable they are and then also, how trust worthy. Sometimes we stumble and lose a little bit of trust in the eyes of others, but that's what being human is. We all make mistakes and most of us bounce back. Why? Because, the majority of the American people have high moral standards and a good code of conduct to live by. It's a set of values that has been passed on for many generations.

Now, I give you the Federal government and its current leader, President Obama. I would propose that they have made a mockery out of the word 'trust'. Early on, candidate Obama made promises to the American public that he would keep if elected. 'Trust me', he said and yet soon after his election, he has failed:

1)      to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them.

2)    to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN.

3)    to end earmarks.

4)    to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.

5)    to close the detention center at Guantanamo in the first year.

6)    to make peace with direct, no precondition talks with America's most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a new era of global cooperation.

7)    to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high White House jobs.

8)    to end no-compete contracts with the government.

9)    to disclose the names of all attendees at closed White House meetings.

10)   to help foster a new era of bipartisan cooperation in all matters.

11)   to have chosen a home church to attend Sunday services with his family by Easter of last year.

Still, with all that, many average American citizens still have some element of trust for this man. What is it now? Maybe thirty percent or something like that? And, what of the Congress and the job it's doing? How's is the trust thing working out there? Last I heard it was at 12% and sinking. Trust, a thing so easily broken, has been trampled by a group of self serving ideologues and power obsessed bureaucrats. Greedy, power hungry members of Congress who have absolutely no interest in anyone but themselves and maintaining the White House social scene; while the rest of the country slides ever closer to the abyss. Am I being too opinionated here? Maybe so, maybe not!

A new day for America and the World!

Reconnecting to States Rights by the citizens, will require a reaffirmation of the inherent sovereignty of that state above all other laws or restrictions, minus those which fall under the express jurisdiction of the Federal government as is listed in the first nine Amendments to the Constitution. The Tenth Amendment then comes in to effect, as it states that 'powers not granted to the federal government nor prohibited to the states by the previous nine Amendments to the Constitution are reserved, respectively, to the states or the people'. This is an important Amendment, in that it acts as a capping statement to prohibit the Federal entity from wandering outside of its self imposed boundaries. It also tacitly mandates the right of each state to pursue its own unique destiny.

The second biggest obstacle that I feel lies in the way of renewed prosperity for America, is the massive body of restrictions, rules and laws that have been placed on the books over many decades. A work that is so ungainly and self-entangled, that few people today understand it in its entirety. They now have become not unlike a cancer the feeds and nourishes itself to the detriment of the people it is supposed to serve. The regulations become greater by the day while our position in world commerce grows smaller.

These two items, then, are what I feel need attention by the state legislatures in the very short term. Restoring the Tenth Amendment through Nullification and undoing the tangled web of laws and regulations will require great effort and will likely be a painful process. But, if done correctly, could herald in a new beginning for America and for the rest of the world.

The case for extreme Capitol Punishment!

Let me begin by stating that I abhor the idea of killing of another human being as an act of revenge, no matter how horrifying their actions in society were. And, it’s not that I’m a kind hearted person either. No, in point of fact I would much rather we keep these monsters alive for as long as possible living in a crowded, damp prison on an island somewhere where they get only the bare minimum to survive. Let them suffer as long as possible for their acts and while I’m sure that the Lord will enact His form of punishment after they do finally die, I want to make sure we humans get our licks in also.

Now, having said that, there is one type of individual that I would like to see the death sentence applied to with gusto! That would be anyone who was caught and then convicted of creating any form of virus or malware and who made a concerted attempt to corrupt the Internet in any way. I would also like to see a World Organization of special police who jobs it would be to track down these worms no matter what their country of residence.

My reason is simple. As a group, these sick and twisted individuals are responsible for more time lost, more aggravation and feelings of helplessness for millions more people than any one killer could ever hope to inflict on humanity. They are without morals and care concerning those they hurt. As a society I think we should act ‘kind-in-kind’ and show them little if any leniency.  'Grab em, try em and execute em', should the one and only guiding principle at play, regardless of gender or age. As a final courtesy to them, however, we could erect signs over their gas chambers that read, 'Ladies and Gentlemen, your chamber awaits'!

I wonder what's at the bottom of the cliff? Maybe a new beginning!

That America and the rest of the civilized world are engaged in mutually assured economic destruction (MAED) is now obvious to most everyone, I think. My question, at this juncture in time, is what happens when we finally hit the bottom? More importantly, what's going to happen to me and those I love?

One thing that's for sure, when the collapse does happen, it should be spectacular! Think of the opportunities the media will have in taping and airing the financial destruction of hundreds of millions of hard working citizens. The chaos and sheer drama that goes with it all, will be a mind-numbing visual orgasm for the masses. Then, even the media will get caught up in the financial meltdown and they too will fade to black. Goodbye CNN. Have a nice day internet. Hey! Who turned off the electricity?

At the end, our currency will be worthless paper, now more useful as a material to use for wallpaper. Bank accounts, just numbers on a ledger sheet.”Say Fred, did I ever tell you I had a million dollars in savings?” Even gold will not escape destruction, as those who have it, quickly learn they can't eat it to survive. Formal governments with all their pomp and glory will vaporize like fog in the morning. Barter will become the new economic reality, and real assets the currency of a nation that is PC (post crash).

A cup of sugar for a loaf of bread, or two eggs for a few hours work the new norm for how a transaction is completed. No longer will we be concerned with what is going on elsewhere in the world as things that we took for granted like the internet, communications and TV have become luxuries available only to a few.

In short, America will have taken one giant step back in time and our collective focus will turn to events in the immediate vicinity of wherever it is that we live. We will have to relearn to depend on neighbors who live next door. People who many of us hardly knew before. We will come together into small groups and we will work side by side for mutual support and sustenance. We might even rediscover God and religion in a way that has not been seen for over a century.

Come to think of it, my dear reader, maybe that would not be such a bad thing after all!

USPS! What a MESS!

While it is my understanding that the United States Postal Service is not an arm of the US Government, they sure do act like they are. What a rolling disaster. Tracking a package through them is mostly guesswork and speculation. If you really want them to lose your package, have it sent Priority!  This so-called company is diametrically unlike the much better run UPS system, where you generally have a pretty good feeling about where your package is in the system! No such luck with the USPS and their full time and overpaid union workers. Whenever possible, I avoid this agency like the plague.

Maybe, it's about time we put an end to the postal service. They have been in the red for many years now while the internet and others have antiquated them pretty much to the back of the societal bus.

Moral Turpitude and our Government

Here’s one for the men and women currently sitting in Congress;

Moral Turpitude: The concept of moral turpitude escapes precise definition, but has been described as an "act of baseness, vileness or depravity in the private and social duties which a man owes to his fellowmen or to society in general, contrary to the accepted and customary rule of right and duty between man and man." The specific acts that such a concept includes have varied over time, but I feel that the definition could be applied to ‘way’ Americans are feeling right now as regards the kind of treatment they have received from the Federal government, organized unions and Wall Street. Something sure is wrong!

Ladies and gentlemen of the Congress, please decide who you are working for and then let us know. The feeling in this country right at the moment seems to be full of tension; perhaps not unlike the atmosphere that existed before the last Civil War. If you cannot lead us, as a group of states that are united, then please step aside and let us go our separate ways. For, I’ll tell you, that no country can long endure the crushing levels of debt and insecurity that your poorly thought out policies have fomented over the past three years.

Someone, please just kill the messenger!

Seriously, the media is the messenger and I think everyone has gotten the message! Haven't we by now? If you're a TV and Internet junkie like myself, then you're also more than likely suffering from one or more nervous disorders by this point in time. The crap presented to the viewing public never seems to stop. Pick your poison, be it ABC, CBS, Fox or CNN. How about the media outlets on the Internet? The message they droll out day and night is the same. Our country is broke and people can't get along. Really? I hadn't noticed!

When 'We the People' are not being fed that form of crapola, the commercials take up the slack! A steady stream of ads to make us hungry, and then on the flip side, scary commercials for drugs to get us well from all the shit we've been eating. It never ends my friends and yeah, I'm blown away!
