Where's your candidate?

Why me and Halloween don’t mix!

God commands His people to "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Ephesians 5:11

I understand that for many millions of Americans, All Hallows Eve or Halloween, is a time of parties, candy and dressing up in costumes. And were that all it was, I would never utter a single complaint.

Oh wait one moment! Yes, I do have a complaint! I’ve long suspected that the whole deal has been pushed along by the mega corporations that make candy! They get rich off of the millions of bags of assorted Sweet Tarts and Snickers sold every year and have a vested interest in seeing the tradition maintained. Then too, the dentists are kept very busy by the aftermath of all those sweets on kid's enamel.

But that’s not what I’m really complaining about. What I’m concerned about is a condition that is becoming one of the fasting growing killers in our history; Diabetes. A disease that is becoming all too common and which even now may be helping to collapse our health care system here in America. As a nation, we are already in bed with sugar. Do we need to something like Halloween to give it an exclamation point!

Seriously, as parents, if you are going to launch your children on this horrific path by allowing them to gorge themselves on sweets, at least let them know what may be in store for them later on in life. (And, if you are really serious about a healthy lifestyle, why not keep your kids home and pass out apples or oranges instead? That is assuming you can afford them).

My other gripe about Halloween is the manner in which it has changed in meaning over the years, especially in recent decades where costumes have taken on increasingly darker meanings. I’m referring, of course, to the large upswing in the worship of witchcraft and all things vampire. While I’m sure that the vast majority of kids understand that this stuff is fake, there are some who end up embracing some of its darker and more sinister aspects. Also, there are the costumes coming out these days that are rather too racist for my tastes, thank you very much.

The bottom line, I feel, is that we are entering a time where religion is coming under attack from many sources. In a recent poll, 64% of Americans felt this statement to be true. Do we need then, to continue a practice that in any way exonerates the devil, while at the same time helping to rot our kids teeth? I don’t know. You parents out there will have to make that call.

The time for real change is now!

Every day, it’s the same old, same old. My country now thoroughly out of money. My brave soldiers fighting in countries I cannot even pronounce. And my quality of life? It's been in the dumpster since '08! Something, my fellow Americans, has got to give!

Coming in the fall of 2012, we all have a tough decision to make. A decision that will quite possibly determine the fate of a Republic and a way of life that has been a beacon of hope for the world!

I now call on all citizens to forget about party alliances for this one moment in time and to vote with both their hearts and their minds. We desperately need a candidate that can stand true to the ideals that made America strong and who will help us find our way back to our sovereign roots. We need to be reborn again as...

'A collection of energetic and free states, unencumbered by stringent government regulations and who are fully empowered to achieve their own unique destinies while working together to insure domestic tranquility and a safe haven for all!'

I ask you all to please consider patriotic efforts like nullification and that you take an active and nonviolent role in the political service and future of this great country!

I'll go ahead and say what others will not on Global Warming!

"The bad news just got worse: A new study finds that reining in greenhouse gas emissions in time to avert serious changes to Earth's climate will be at best extremely difficult. Current goals for reducing emissions fall far short of what would be needed to keep warming below dangerous levels, the study suggests. To succeed, we would most likely have to reverse the rise in emissions immediately and follow through with steep reductions through the century. Starting later would be far more expensive and require unproven technology." [more on this at Science Now]

The problem is people, pure and simple. Way, way too many to be precise!  In October 2011,mankind has hit the seven billion mark and shows no sign of slowing. If you really want to save the planet, we need to see very large numbers of men, women and children to perish! That would bring about the fastest and surest correction to what ails this world. As a better alternative, we need to work furiously together as a world to; reign in population growth, learn to get along together and get really, really frugal for about one or two centuries.... Pick one and good luck! In the end, Mother Nature will make a correction of her own, perhaps after most of the species of this planet are long gone. Not a book I would want to read to the end! Just a thought....

Jerry Brown and his 'feel good ban on open carry'!

This week Gov Jerry Brown signed a law that makes it a criminal offense to carry a gun that is in open view in public places in the state of California. The carrying of a gun whether concealed or open, according to LA County Sheriff Lee Baca , “could appear as a threat to their well-being and is regarded as a public safety threat.” This statement from a man in charge of a county bearing some of the most restrictive guns laws in the nation and which, at the same time, boosts one of the highest rates of armed violence.

My question is to ask, 'Is this just another feel good law'? Is it a law designed to imply a safer private sector, when in fact, it may work in the opposite direction.

Consider who is actually impacted by this new law. That would be Mr. and Mrs. Average American, the vast majority of which wouldn't think of carrying a gun in the first place. Fact: Only about 1% of the people in states that allow concealed carry even bother to get a permit. Fact 2: If you happen to live in a 'open carry friendly state', how often do you see someone carrying a gun? I've seen one in the past five years and he turned out to have mental problems. But for the sake of argument, let's say that 5% of the general population decided to carry a gun on their hips. If you went to a crowded store that percentage would imply about five out of every hundred shoppers would be openly armed walking around with their wives and kids buying milk and other sundries. Now, would the sight of those people make me 'tense' or afraid violence was about to break out at any moment. Probably not. However, if I were a crook would the sight of armed citizens make me think twice about robbing the place. You betcha it would.

Speaking of which; of the 5% of the population suffering from some form of mental illness, how many do you think will abide by Jerry's new law? Zero – after all, they're crazy. Duh! And what about the habitual criminal the man who takes from others at the point of a gun? Again, the answer is zero. They consider themselves above the law which they are until caught and prosecuted. That's a double duh!

This brings me back to my opening question that this legislation may be 'feel good' law. It attempts to regulate, when in fact, it changes nothing. It fails to address the root causes of problems in this society; crooks and nut jobs running around on the loose. Neither group of which is allowed to carry a gun in the first place under Federal law!

Governor Brown, please enforce the laws already on the books and stop trying to appear like your smart, cause mister, you ain't!

Bloomberg and his smelly, groping camaraderie!

'Man, like when I get a razor in my hand, it wants to cut something!'

After two weeks of hosting the Wall Street Occupiers, Mayor Bloomberg has been forced to call in the city Sanitation Department to come in an clean out the 'animals' who have been living in Zucotti Park in lower Manhattan for over two weeks now. Brookfield Properties, the owners of the park, have indicated that conditions there are 'disgusting' with them receiving “hundreds of phone calls and emails” from locals complaining about "lewdness, groping, drinking and drug use, the lack of safe access to and usage of their park, ongoing noise at all hours, unsanitary conditions and offensive odors.”

The WSO are portraying themselves as an alternative to the greedy, overly clean men and women of
Wall Street. 'Like man, like we're the Future of America', one Occupier was heard yelling as he ran around the park in a  thong and tennis shoes.

There’s a storm coming! Can you feel it?

Almost everyone I ask tells me they can feel trouble coming. Like in the fall when many of us can sense the days are getting darker and shorter, so too is there a sense for troubled times just ahead. But, as they say, to be forewarned is to be forearmed. Now would be a good time to check your plans for disaster preparedness; food stocks, ammunition, water and seed. I’m not sure if the dark times will start in a year or even next month, but by getting ready right now, you will make your chances of survival that much better.

California: A state that's out of its mind!!

When thinking about the state of California, I’d like you to browse and pick from the following list of phrases to see if anything sticks:

Looney Tunes Capitol of the World.
Haven for illegal’s and other misfits.
The pot Mecca of the West.
A state in revolt against the Feds.
A state that’s just plain revolting…
Loosey goosey with Federal law.
Morally bankrupt and proud of it.
Fiscally bankrupt, but great at pan-handling other states.

Did you find one or two? I thought you might. And while California is technically a state of the Union, it acts more like another country. Consider the following recent laws:

  • You can grow, buy and consume pot anywhere in the state, in spite of Federal laws to the contrary!
  • The state is progressively taking over the job of parenting.
  • Open carry of a gun is now illegal.
  • Girls as young as 12 can receive medical injections without parent approval.
  • Illegal aliens are now encouraged to enter the state for financial rewards.
  • And the list keeps on growing….
What has the government of the United States done about any of this? Zippo and Nada come to my mind. What are they going to do about it in the future? See the aforementioned for an answer.  One other thing of note is that in spite of the enormous influx of Latino’s into the state; as a whole it has lost population for four years running now! That might be partly because business concerns are leaving as fast as they can pack up and go. What is left is a large population that constantly has their hands out, hoping for more and more entitlement programs while working less and less. Not exactly a recipe for a bright future.

I would say that we could just give the state to Mexico, but I fear that wouldn’t work out well. We’d just have to build a longer fence. We could also consider selling the state to the Chinese to settle our National Debt, but I don’t think they would fall for it either.
