Endeavor to persevere!

One thing that has surprised me is how the Democrats have never taken up a chant similar to 'WE ALL MUST ENDEAVOR TO PERSEVERE'. You know, something they could shout to us dumb Republicans who they consider to be racist, homophobic and masochistic xenophobes.

What they really would like for us to do would be to just hunker on down while they strip our Republic from us.... Fuck that!

On politics, diets and chili!

Even as the world around me was crumbling and seemed headed for the abyss, I still found time to accomplish two somewhat strange goals; dieting and making chili laced with pasta during a heat wave!

It was 10:30 AM on a Friday in July and I had just finished making myself up a batch of  DanO's Crock pot Chili! OK. So what if I was in the middle of a heat wave where the temps might get close to 100°F. And, maybe I was also on a strict diet to boot! That did not stop me from enjoying the things I like to do! And a steaming bowl of red... no wait, make that chili with pasta was going to be the order of the day.

So, exactly how could I perform two minor miracles? Easy. Portion control and a really good central air system kept the calories under control and the eating environment just right!So, even as the Democrats continued in their efforts to dismantle America, I was living the dream.

Trump declares he has all the time in the world concerning Iran!

Unlike the cozy relationship Hassan Rouhani had with Obama back in the day, President Trump has proven to be made of a of a whole different sort of intestinal metal. With tightening sanctions now beginning to tell on what could only be described as an economy in real trouble, President Rouhani doubled down on threats to 'increase uranium enrichment any amount he wants to'!

President Trump, meanwhile, seemed happy with giving Iran's leadership all the rope they wanted with which to ultimately hang themselves. And it wasn't helping that other nations were getting in line behind the US in support of a slow economic death.

For perspective, Iran had an estimated Gross Domestic Product (GDP) circa 2017 of about 450 billion, with a population of 80.6 million people. Iran's economy is characterized by the hydrocarbon sector, agriculture and services sectors, and a noticeable state presence in manufacturing and financial services. Contrast that to the US with a GDP of about 2 trillion supporting a population of 340 million.

The country's only real hope for this sponsor of terrorism was for Trump to be defeated by the Democrats in 2020. Should that happen, our newly elected socialist President would fall over his or her self to appease even demonic regimes such as this one.
