When the 'truth' is sometimes not very factual!

"This law represents a cornerstone in a structure which is being built but is by no means completed--a structure intended to lessen the force of possible future depressions, to act as a protection to future administrations of the Government against the necessity of going deeply into debt to furnish relief to the needy--a law to flatten out the peaks and valleys of deflation and of inflation--in other words, a law that will take care of human needs and at the same time provide for the United States an economic structure of vastly greater soundness." -FDR August 14, 1935

[This quote is true, however the following information, which is being posted all over the internet, may not be factual]

'When Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program and signed it into law on August 14, 1935, he devoutly promised the People of the United States that:

1) Participation in the Social Security Program would be completely voluntary!

Well it’s no longer exactly voluntary, is it?

2) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program!

We now pay 7.65% on the first $90,000 we make!

3) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year!

Well, gee wiz and darn the luck; it’s no longer tax deductible!

4) That the money (from the participants) be put into an independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund. This was done to insure that these monies would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program!

Under Johnson’s Administration, the money was moved to The General Fund and Spent in its entirety.  Poof! All gone! So sorry!

5) That the annuity payments, to the retirees, would never be taxed as income. Under Clinton & Gore up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed. Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month -- Only to discover that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away'!'

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?

A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?

A: Uh, the Democratic Party? Ring that bell, you’re right again!

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?

A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US. (Are we seeing a pattern here)?

Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants pro gratis?

A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.  Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!

Notice: Please never take what you see on the 'net' as authoritative information and then believe it to be the gospel. Research everything as part of your individual commitment to due diligence. People who are involved in politics make it their business to spin, deceive and distort. This is true of both parties as they constantly vie for control of our government and, in their eagerness, sometimes throw the truth under the bus!

California and her new auto emission standards!

Every time I think that the black sheep in the family has begun to shape up, they come out with nonsense like the all new emission mandate that is absolutely guaranteed to fail. They have decreed that they will get 1.4 million electric vehicles on the roads by 2025 at a time when Chevy can’t give away her battery powered cars! They somehow think that the air quality will improve when their neighbor ‘upwind’, aka as China, is cranking up coal fired power plants like there’s no tomorrow. And, implicit in their structuring of this air standard will be the hope of future Federal funds in the form of bailouts when it turns out that (surprise) the Nation is flat broke. Now, while I applaud the idealism of this state, it is the realities of existence that are gnawing at their heels like a hungry pack of wolves. With citizens now leaving the state in record numbers, it's much more likely that should the air quality improve, it'll be because no one is living there any longer!

Why the Muslim world has an unfair advantage!

For longer than I can remember, the United States has been at odds with the extremist elements of certain Muslim nations. I’d like to list those countries here that I feel are in that category:

Afghanistan
Egypt
Iran
Libya
Pakistan
Syria

Now, with the possible exception of Iran, the rest of these countries are basically sand dunes, rock and little else. Take away the oil reserves and you have lands that are basically worthless endless expanses of…nothing. So why are we so afraid of these people? Why do we feel the need to spend countless billions of dollars staging troops and support massive navy armadas there for year after year after year? Even the Iranian navy is something of a joke.

Here’s a simple solution. Let’s develop our own oil, coal and gas reserves and give the thumb to these idiots. Then, if they try to cause problems on our soil, we’ll declare war on them in congress and then go whack them in a no holds bar manner. Then we can bring our guys home. Period. End of sentence and end of problem.

It's time to stand America!

The future of America is at stake. Neither the Democrats or the Republicans are bringing a solution to what ails this country to the table. Just more of the same! It's time that Americans send a very clear message to the government and to the world. 'We will not stand for more of the same'.

The New Year is here!

Whoa boy! The New Year of 2012 is just out of the gate and already things look to be heating up on a number of fronts, literally.

Arsonist(s) torch LA!

Yes, it's true what they say about California; a state that supports one of the largest groups of weirdoes, genetic retards and hairballs has one of its own out there torching everything in sight!  But, really! It that such a bad thing?

7.0 Earthquake rattles Japan!

Holy Yamamoto! The last thing this diminutive country needs is another nine pointer! Thankfully, the latest undersea quake resulted in little to no damage. I just keep wondering if all this shaking around will unhinge the fault over by the West Coast of California…

The Republican rabble marches into January!

And, the contest to see who the Party of Red wants is just as confused and convoluted as the party itself. Through all the haze, however, Mitt Romney looks to be the eventual standard bearer for the Oh So Righteous Right. A man with all the charisma of a pile of peanut shells. Meanwhile, the Congress remains a public spectacle (laughingstock) with all the style and grace of a gooney bird coming in for a rough landing. As far as I’m, concerned, you can take the whole mess and flush them down the commode.

US military commits a wad of war machines to Saudi Arabia!

In a move that is so obvious it makes me slightly nauseous, the US is now dumping hundreds of fighter planes and other weapons of war into Saudi Arabia. A country that is wedged between a very unstable Egypt and the patently insane government of Iran. What could possibly go wrong with that move?

Meanwhile, we still have no balanced budget after three years of Democratic leadership (and none likely in 2012), the National Debt continues to climb like a fighter on afterburners and our President has now admitted publically that he intends to work around Congress while spending most of his time running for re-election. Yes, 2012 is off to a fine start!
