North Korea declares war!

North Korea's young leader Kim Jong Un’s war rhetoric has going ballistic, in recent weeks, with him now declaring that both the North and South are in a ‘state of war’!

While neither the United States nor South Korea are taking Kim very seriously, they are somewhat worried that Kim Jong Un may be painting himself so far into a corner that he might feel compelled to act in order to save face. The problem is, even South Korea acting along could clean the North’s clock were a war to break out.

I have to wonder if there is anyone in leadership ability on that side of this divided country that is not a complete dingbat? And, do any of the citizens of this beleaguered country know that ‘war could break out at any moment’? I suspect not. I also suspect that about the best thing that could happen would be for Kim to actually make a misstep that would result in the complete and utter annihilation of his government. Perhaps then, more responsible (sane) people could step in, make steps toward a more democratic regime and then join with the South in a relationship that would be advantageous to both!

On such a day, the thin, sad and hungry faces of the North could then begin to look a little more like the round, jovial and well fed faces of the South!

Senator Ted Cruz on Healthcare!

Dallas Morning News
March 26, 2013

By Sen. Ted Cruz

Three years after the Affordable Care Act passed, it’s proved to be neither affordable nor caring.
Insurance premiums are skyrocketing. Seniors are losing health care choices. Millions of Americans are being pushed into a struggling and ineffective Medicaid system. Americans are grappling with scores of new taxes. Employers are slashing jobs and hours to avoid complying with Obamacare requirements.

This isn’t what was promised. Americans were told if Obamacare was made law, they would be able to keep their health plans, taxes wouldn’t go up, premiums would go down, and more jobs would be created. But the law isn’t living up to its label. And it’s hurting working families, young people, poor minorities and seniors the most.

Before Obamacare was adopted, President Barack Obama pledged that American families would pay $2,500 less for their insurance premiums by the end of his first term. Today, they are paying $3,000 more — a $5,500 swing between what was promised and reality. Young people will be particularly impacted, with the Energy and Commerce Committee estimating that recent college graduates with entry-level jobs who are struggling to pay off student loan debt could see their premiums increase between 145 and 189 percent on average.

As health costs are going up, jobs are becoming harder to obtain — a double dose of economic pain for those worrying about making ends meet. The Federal Reserve recently reported in its annual “beige book,” which analyzed economic data from across the country, that “employers in several districts cite the unknown effects of the Affordable Care Act as reasons for planned layoffs and reluctance to hire more staff.”

This is terrible news for Americans already suffering from disproportionately high unemployment rates. Currently, the unemployment rate for people who didn’t graduate from high school is more than 12 percent. Hispanics have an unemployment rate of nearly 10 percent, and the African-American unemployment rate is over 14 percent.

Small businesses are discouraged from growing and hiring these folks. Indeed, Obamacare is designed to keep small business small. Once an employer has 50 employees on payroll, expensive compliance requirements are triggered. The approximately $1 trillion in new Obamacare taxes Americans will pay over the next 10 years, as scored by the Joint Committee on Taxation, will go to the government instead of private-sector paychecks.

For those who already can’t find jobs, all this will make it even more difficult — especially for those seeking low-skilled work. The Heritage Foundation found that “workers who cannot produce at least $20,000 a year” for a single plan, or “$27,500 per year” for a family plan “of value to their employers will have serious difficulty finding full-time jobs.”

When I read those statistics, I think of my father, who came to America as a Cuban immigrant in 1957. He was penniless, could not speak English and worked for 50 cents an hour washing dishes. At the time, he couldn’t come close to producing $20,000 worth of economic value, but he needed that job to climb up the economic ladder and help pay his way through college. It’s what enabled him to graduate, get a higher paying job and start a small business.

If Obamacare had been in place when he was looking for work back then, he may have never been hired.

More and more employers are dropping health care coverage because of the burdens associated with Obamacare, too. The Congressional Budget Office estimates up to 7 million people will lose their employer-provided health insurance by 2020.

In Texas, one of the largest insurance markets in the country, every single carrier has dropped its child-only health insurance coverage.

According to the Office of Actuary at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Obamacare will reduce enrollment in the Medicare Advantage program from 14.8 million to 7.4 million by 2017.
So much for “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it.”

Americans deserve access to affordable health care that suits their needs and an environment where jobs are plentiful. But Obamacare is standing between them and those opportunities.

Congress can help, and the first step is repealing Obamacare. That is why, fulfilling my promise to Texas voters, the first legislation I filed as a senator will do just that. And it is why I have twice pushed for votes to undo Obamacare, which Senate Republicans unanimously supported.

There’s not a moment to waste. Because the longer Obamacare remains the law of the land, the more damage it is certain to do.

Cyprus bailout deal, was not a good ‘deal’ for depositors!

Imagine waking up to find out that as much as 40 percent of the money you thought was safely deposited in the bank was seized, without your permission, to bail out a near-bankrupt government.

My thoughts: Get ready for the true Euro-meltdown that’s coming and which will suck most of the rest of the world down with it!

Iran threatens to level Israel. Really?

Iran's leader said in a speech that the country would annihilate the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa if it were attacked by Israel, and criticized the U.S. over nuclear talks.

The Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has final say on all key decisions in Iran, says Israel is too small to be called an enemy, and that the United States is the "center of animosity" toward the Islamic republic.

"Sometimes, leaders of the Zionist regime threaten us. They threaten to take military action. They are not in the size to be put in the list of Iranian nation's enemies," Khamenei said in comments broadcast live on state TV.

In a strong warning to Israel, Khamenei said that if Israel attacked Iran, the "Islamic Republic will raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground."

My thoughts: Here’s the deal. Things are now unraveling at so many locations across this world (and seemingly all at the same time), that it concerns me when an extremist and wacked out Islamic infected tic like Iran makes threats against one of our key allies; perhaps it’s time to call them out and to crush them. Just a thought…

Robo-Squirrel and our Government! A true match!

Watching our government operate these days will either make you laugh or cry. Sometimes I do both simultaneously! Whether it’s the squandering of $325,000 to build a robotic squirrel or another one billion to deploy additional missile interceptors in a knee-jerk response to North Korea’s nuclear efforts, you just can’t help but feel sorry for the American taxpayer. After all, they’re the ones footing the bill for such foolishness.

The sad truth is that almost half the population pays no income tax (they’re all on entitlements) and fairly soon the nation’s corporations will be plundered into bankruptcy. That will leave just a small core of the working middle class left to foot the bills for everything! Watch for new and ever more clever ways to tax people without always calling it a tax, i.e. a surcharge on ammunition to the tune of 50% of its cost! WTF?

At some point, this country will grind to a halt when all the money gobbled up by this left leaning monster we call Capitol Hill. Then, in four more years, the Democrats will all scamper back under the carpet (or wherever it is they hide), while the newly elected Republican majority in both the House and Senate attempt to put everything back together. That’s how its gone before and that’s how it will go again.

That damn Keystone pipeline and our Great Obstructionist President!

The Keystone pipeline that has now been reviewed to death by every major department and which has been given the green light by all is still ‘on hold’. Why? President Obama perhaps better known as Mr. Obstructionist wants to ‘think about it’ for another year or so.

This pipeline which now has bipartisan support and which has met all of the Presidents objections languishes and languishes and… Even hard line environmentalists, when inform by the EPA that its construction will actually save green house gases are questioning the President’s actions (or in-actions). On hold, too, are the estimated ten thousand jobs (many of them union jobs) that could help put a dent in the US unemployment figures. So what’s going on here?

Obama is dragging his feet on this project for one simple reason. He feels strongly that fossil fuels are inherently evil and that we should find a way to power our economy with…windmills. What! And, oh yes, we could also use solar power to possibly take up whatever slack is generated.

God, I hope that once this great Republic collapses (and it will), that everyone will remember who was responsible. In the meantime, can we please get that project started?

At some point, it's time!

At some point, whatever is left of the core of this Republic; those men and women who work hard every day and who have a strong family ethic and who understand where we all are in relationship to God, must and will make a stand!

Our government has abandoned us. Our government now serves its own interests more than it serves the peoples who it was sworn to serve. That's a fact.

No American now living; rich or poor, will be better off following the course we now find ourselves on. Only those who are sworn to protect and serve us will benefit greatly, and continue to benefit, under this new and twisted regime of socialist reform.

Stand and be strong my fellow Americans! For we fight for our Republic, our past war dead and for freedom!

An express train to Vegas? Will it be another bridge to nowhere?

All aboard!
Hold onto you’re garter belts, ladies and gents. Mamma Gov is about to plunge into a risky 6.9 billion dollar gamble when and if the Transportation Department ‘wisely’ squanders more taxpayer money on a train that will go from suburban California to Las Vegas! After all, you hard working Americans will be footing 80% of the bill!

In spite of well considered objections from House Republicans on Capitol Hill, it’s looking likely that this deal will go through. Interestingly, some insiders feel it may act as an escape route for millions of over-taxed Californians as they endeavor to make a mass exodus from the West Coast! (Sort of the opposite of what happened during the California Gold Rush of 1849)!

The first hint that all may not be well, will come after this train begins running and the ticket agents, over on the Coast, realize that the tickets are all one way!

Magpul - Get the F out of Colorado! Come to Missouri!

Unnoticed amid dozens of tract homes in the Denver suburbs, a nondescript industrial building is suddenly in the middle of the gun control debate in Colorado.

The company, started in an ex-Marine's basement in 1999, is in a standoff with Colorado Democrats who want to restrict the size of ammunition magazines after mass shootings in a suburban Denver movie theater and a Connecticut elementary school. Magpul has issued lawmakers an ultimatum potentially worth millions: Pass the bill, and the business will move.

Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/03/02/company-will-move-if-colorado-approves-gun-control/#ixzz2MQhm7AcK

My thoughts: We are witnessing the emergence of perhaps the most retarded liberal group of people in Colorado ever to grace a planet. That they even go to bed at night and sleep soundly is beyond my keen...

Magpul! - Please come to Missouri. We still have a modicum of sense left. God bless this country and those of us who still believe in You!
